Another stunning piece of art found via Dear Ada's blog- by Jennifer Davis. This is just so perfect to me, if only I could create something this divine.

Victor Polson
I discovered these truly awe-inspiring photographs by Victor Polson via Dear Ada's blog (one of my favourites- she has excellent taste, surprisingly similar to mine...).
Victor combines three of my great loves- vegetables, abstract art and photography- fabulous.

Etsy joy
I've had a little boost to my Etsy shop due to a lovely customer buying 3 more dolls!
So I've got renewed enthusiasm, and have just popped up some new gift tags using prints on watercolour paper of my original handpainted teacup and mug designs. I've experiemented on a couple of people with these (Ros being the first) and decided to have a go at selling them as a set of 4.
Ho Ho Ho!

Selvedge Magazine
Just found another "ohmagod" web-site for anyone who loves textiles; http://www.selvedge.co.uk/ . It's a U.K. magazine that I am seriously considering selling my soul to subscribe to!
They have some truly A-Mazing work to look at, and one artist from Selvedge who's work instantly caught my eye was Sophie Digard who made this scarf, but actually her other work seems even more beautiful. They showcase print and pattern as well as felting, knitting and weaving...just plain beautiful stuff.

Mod Sparkle girl
Found this gorgeous vintage Mod paper doll in my new favourite book (a vintage paper doll book), and she has now become a member of my paper doll gang. She looks perfect against my vintage wallpaper don't you think? And although her "I'm terribly bored" facial expression scares Ben, I think she's just too cool for school.
I will try to sell her through Scrumptious Productions, but will also do some more for Etsy.

Colour stripes blog
Just discovered this unreal blog via Bloesem for colour; Kris's colour stripes! (Of course they spell "colour" as "color"- but what can you do?)

New work
I've been invited to contribute some collage work on consignment to Scrumptious Productions who have a stall at Camberwell markets, as well as at the Northcote night markets so I'm trying to get a few more pieces done to deliver to them asap....watch this space!

More of my favourite artist Angie Lewin
Found my favourite artist Angie Lewin has some new prints, and apparently for those of you lucky enough to live in the U.K. she'll have a big new exhibition early next year! One day I'm gonna get me one of her prints.
patrons aplenty
Some wonderful patron out there ordered 10- yes 10 of my Christmas Tomatoes card from NCGardens Red Bubble site- bless 'em! That water tank we so desperately need is inching closer! Was it one my lovely friends or relatives out there???Hmm?

Raquel Marin
I discovered this amazing illustrator, Raquel Marin's work via Karin's blog, and I just love her minimalist style on brown paper. So deceptively simple but they all pack a punch.

Overwhelming lack of response
So far the Community Gardens tshirts have not inspired great swathes of people to passionately lay down their money and say "GIMME ONE!" But where there's life there's hope....sort of.
Anyway I'm sick of looking at them so here's a couple of my Muerte Day of the Dead shots instead. It is on the 31st Oct/1st Nov and I intend to celebrate it.

get 'em while they're hot
We've just set up a Red Bubble site for the Northcote Community Gardens, and although there's not much on there yet, we've got a couple of things going on and plans for much more- all profits will go towards our dream of a water tank...

If you are a tenant, just shut up and pay the rent.
Finally we got hot water back on Friday- that's 5 days with no hot water. When we asked to negotiate some discount in our rent for that time due to their failing to meet their obligations to us, we were told that our Landlord would just put the rent up. So basically shut up and pay the rent or get priced out of the property.
Thanks for that.
Where on Earth is the incentive for us as tenants to maintain the property and treat it with respect if they have abolutely no intention of treating us with respect and fulfilling their side of the bargain- i.e. a functioning bloody hot water system!!!! Honestly if you had seen this place when we moved in and how much we've done to improve it....They are Nasty, Nasty people...and there's a reason why throughout history Landlords have been hated and feared.
O.K. Rant over.

my lovely indulgent teatowels!
I lashed out and bought some skinnylaminx teatowels and I love them- here's one! I plan to frame them they're so gorgeous. (Still no hot water.........!)

Apparently this is my flower- found via Simone who is a sunflower, cute huh?

hot water dramas
Been a bit distracted by our hot water system dying- dramatically- and the Real Estate agent won't get us a new one until she has spoken to the Landlord, and she can't reach him. Sigh. Bathing in a bucket is o.k. for one day because certain people can't get themselves organised, but two is stretching it I think. Not to mention the washing up....no, I won't mention it.
Anyway, here's a pretty picture from Suzanne Clements on Etsy to calm me down.

wool photos for Louise
Here's some of the scrummy wool I bought the other day... just to torture you Weezie- but you did ask for it! There's more in just straight colours, but I couldn't get the light right to catch their intensity. The best one is a lovely deep teale, which is just about my favourite colour I think.
I have been a feltin' today- and my arms are sore, but I think the results are pretty good. I'll show them when they're dry.
My Red Bubble tshirts have arrived and they are quite a good quality and decent print- I ordered them in the medium size which is o.k. but it's a fairly straight-up style of tshirt.
I also feel I need to slightly adjust "Look" girl's position on the tshirt, she needs to be higher- still figuring this stuff out I guess.
(So excited to have sold something from both Etsy and Red Bubble- I know Simone is my delightful benefactress on Etsy, but Red Bubble don't tell you who buys...but that could also be Simone..she's such a sweetie! Thank-you!)
P.S. I just checked your blog Simone, and it WAS you! You are too generous, but thanks again!

found objects
I found this skeleton of a leaf/seed pod thing and it seemed to cast such divine shadows I was inspired to photograph it, and then when I saw how it looked on a pile of 1930's magazine pages I realized it could almost tell a story...or at least create a spooky atmosphere. The dead daisy even manages to be a bit creepy somehow...but sweet.
I think these'll go on Red Bubble.
