Selvedge magazine

After a post I did a while ago on Selvedge magazine, my wonderful sister bought me a subscription and my first copy arrived the other day. It is absolutely tremendous for anyone who loves beautiful things, and is packed full of great articles.

vacuum

I feel a little bit like I'm creating in a vacuum at the moment. It can be hard to not have creative buddies nearby to bounce ideas off sometimes. Why are all mine a million miles away?
Still, I do need to be alone to work properly- it's just that sometimes...I'd like a little natter and a distraction, and possibly a cup of tea and a piece of cake...or two.(Oh, how pathetic, I can hear the violins starting up now...)

Silja Puranen

This is an amazing piece by Silja Puranen at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts in the U.K. as part of an exhibition called Cloth and Culture Now. I'm not sure how this image was transferred to the textile but I think it looks really interesting, and I love how you can see the pattern through the figure.
